Testimonios/Testimonials

Dear Pilar,

I wanted to congratulate the organizers of the conference “Women, Power, World” held on March 8, 2008 at Montgomery Community College. While I was not able to attend the entire event, it was clear that the conference was an important success. What most struck me was the space given to young girls, teens, and women to express their views and construct their vision of leadership and empowerment. The issues featured throughout the day were highly relevant. “Women, Power, World” was able to include women and girls from many backgrounds through the use of a bilingual program, truly reflecting the rich diversity of Montgomery County. The event reflected some of the strongest elements of the international women’s movement, allowing the women and girls to speak for themselves. Also, the celebration of culture and movement were significant in promoting wellness and spiritual beauty, drawing on the collective and individual strengths of each participant. I wish Community Bridges and Centro Familia much success in developing this initiative further in the future.
